8 Wonderful Things to do this World Kindness Day

Kindness - we could all do with showing a little more of it, whether it’s to our loved ones who we can so easily take for granted, or someone you pass in the street or interact with for just a few seconds. This World Kindness Day, make someone’s day by doing any of these big and small acts of kindness.

1. Buy Them a Coffee

When you get your morning coffee, add one to your order to give to a colleague when you arrive at work, the parent you bump into during the school run or the person you always see in the same spot on the street who’s down on their luck...

2. Give Them a Call

Reaching out with a phone call shows that someone specific is on your mind and you’re thinking of them - a kindness in itself, since it’s so easy to be wrapped up in our own lives. Act on this thoughtfulness by giving them a call to see how they’re doing.

3. Treat Them to Breakfast

It’s nice to be treated once in a while, especially as a surprise for no reason other than to be kind. Taking a friend or family member out for breakfast isn’t just about the money spent, but the time and effort. Start their day off the best way - with kindness.

4. Offer Them a Hand

Does a friend need help or assistance with something this World Kindness Day? What better day to help them! Whether they’re moving house, hosting a party or just need some advice, lend them a hand (or an ear) to help ease the pressure. If you’re passing someone who looks like they’re struggling to carry a heavy box to their car, be kind and help them!

5. Give Up Your Seat

If you’re on public transport, get your head out of your phone and look up regularly to see if someone needs to sit down more than you do. Be kind and give up your seat - even if they insist they’re ok to stand, they’ll appreciate the offer.

6. Shower Them in Compliments With a NoteCube

Tell your partner, mum, brother, best friend or anyone else how special they are with a NoteCube. Take some time to collate the messages, add photos of your best times together and then give them the beautiful keepsake box. It will bring them joy every time they open it, making World Kindness Day more than just one day.

7. Offer to Babysit

If your friend is a new parent and could do with a break, do them a massive favour and babysit. Even if it’s just for a few hours so they can run errands or have some quality time with their partner, it will make a big difference to their day and they’ll be very grateful.

8. Bake Them Something Delicious

Surprise someone this World Kindness Day by popping round to their house with a plate of something freshly baked! Whether it’s a batch of cookies, some cheese scones or a savoury pie that sorts them for dinner - make them something you know they’ll love and they’ll love you in return!

Do something wonderful for someone this World Kindness Day on Saturday 13th November.
